IWASAKI YOSHIMI – Wardrobe
(1) Proper intro and low key vox. Usual Pioneer horn part. Us of ‘Kuchibiru’ in 1 minute. MV 3/3 HNT 7/13 K 6/10. ‘—Hachidoumaru—‘. What’s that cadence…? (2) This is it. Evil slap bass and chimey-chime keyboards. Mellifluous vocals – MV 3/5 HNT 8/13 K 7/10. Proper chorus too (3) Get the slow one in early, shall we? No complaints. Actually, not bad for the slow one; HNT 7/13 MV 0/5 K 7/10. Nice wah-kbd. (4) AHA! Something we haven’t heard for a while ~ the Bouncy One! Midpaced and a bit like something from Fujishima. Wouldn’t want a whole album of it, but one song is fine. (5) Stridency!! Proper proto-silver-age stuff. Good singy chorus, in fact, Akina wouldn’t be ashamed of this…. HNT:10/13 MV:4/5 K:2/10. AND A PROPER ENDING! (6) Ah! The mellow but not slow one. Waiting for the chorus. We’ll call this the waiting for your date to start stong. Interesting noises too. (7) Please answer the phone! Not the best track on the album for sure. Actually, the composition isn’t bad at all – the song could be better but the component parts are fine. HNT 5/13 MV 1/5 K 6/10 (8) WOW! 2 Slow ones!! That’s a bit much, isn;t it? Actually, I have such goodwill to this album, 2 slow ones don’t seem too terrible…..
