Honestly, didn’t expect this to be a mostly-instrumental album BUT HNT 8/13 K 0/10 MV 4/5 (4) Out comes the sampler and we get our first proper song. This is the Mysterious End of the City Pop spectrum, with something that seems to share an origin point with Pinkie McLure if you can believe that. It is BEAUTIFUL. MV 3/5 HNT 8/13 K 3/10. Less mise-en-scene than actual music you go out to listen to. IN THE CANCELLED FUTURE, one kind of actually-existing dance music was going to sound like this. (5)[Writing a lot here] this one is Proper Exotic Disco and gets the first MV 5/5 plus HNT 9/13 and K 3/10. By the 3 minute mark it’s proper progressive jazz, super-complex and out-there. (6) Another SONG but as loopy as we’ve come to expect by now. I guess MV 2/5 K 1/10, HNT 8/13. Album actually turning into a legitimate favourite.
